As the school year is coming to a close, we’d like to take this chance to thank ALL of the student volunteers who donated their time and effort to Inspiration Corporation! We are always excited to incorporate Chicago teens and young adults into our volunteer program when we can – they bring a wonderful vibrancy to our organization, and participants and staff alike excited about the opportunity to work with them.

Our student volunteers have logged over 2,000 hours of service in the 2013-2014 school y

ear, and more than 20 schools have been represented. Students assisted in a huge variety of volunteer tasks including monitoring our community Resource Room, organizing our food pantry, cooking and serving our free meals, and delivering bagged lunches to our cafe locations.

With the value of volunteer time in Illinois estimated at $24.08/hr., our student volunteers have help Inspiration Corporation offset over $48,000 in labor costs – that is INCREDIBLE!

We’d love to keep seeing our student volunteers over the summer months, so check in with our Volunteer Coordinator to stay involved! If we don’t see you, we hope our student volunteers have a wonderful Summer break, and we hope to see you all again for 2014-2015!

The following is a list of schools that volunteered with us in the past year. We apologize if we’ve forgotten any groups, we truly appreciate all of the work our volunteers do throughout the year.
