After serving a short time in prison, Antonio was working on his GED when he enrolled in the Foodservice Training program. He graduated with flying colors, and now works as a line cook at Inspiration Kitchens – Garfield Park.
“I come in here, and the outside world is gone. I’ve never had anything like that, and Inspiration Kitchens changed my life. And I love you all for that.”
A great way to get involved with Inspiration Corporation is through supporting an event. Sign-up for our e-newsletter to learn about upcoming events and check out some of our past events below!
Chicago chef and restaurateur Bill Kim invited a team of ten fellow chefs to come together and prepare a free Thanksgiving meal at Inspiration Kitchens for residents of East Garfield Park and surrounding communities on Chicago’s west side who are struggling with poverty and homelessness.
“The idea for Chefsgiving sprang from wanting to directly connect with the communities that these types of culinary events seek to give back to but rarely include and involve. By gathering together at the table, I know we can gain a better understanding of how we can best support our neighborhoods in need.” - Bill Kim
Thank you to everyone who supported last year's One Inspired Evening, Inspiration Corporation's annual fundraiser. We raised over $145,000 in support of Inspiration Corporation's mission. Highlights of the event included a silent auction, hors d'oeuvres by Inspiration Kitchens, and a juried art auction by artist and managing director of Firecat Projects Stan Klein, and artist, founder/director of the Chicago Printmakers Collaborative Deborah Maris Lader, Mars Gallery owner Barb Gazdik, and Chicago business owner Steven E. Gross.
