In the midst of the important work done by Inspiration Corporation helping others increase self-sufficiency by securing employment and housing, one program that sometimes does not get the exposure it deserves is our Art for All initiative. Through the Art for All program, we partner with volunteers and donors to allow our participants to enjoy cultural and recreational outings and connect with the community.
This week Inspiration Corporation participants enjoyed three Art for All events; including The Night Alive at Steppenwolf Theatre – part of Steppenwolf’s Veterans Night Series, and a performance by the Blue Man Group. Our participants relish these opportunities to take part in the amazing cultural scene Chicago offers. This week, there were 15 tickets available to The Night Alive at Steppenwolf, and a whopping 60 tickets for Blue Man Group.
We’ve also been the recipient of tickets for several productions at Porchlight Music Theatre in the past, including critically acclaimed productions of Pal Joey, Ain’t Misbehavin’ and How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying.
The Steppenwolf Veterans Night Series has been a part of Steppenwolf’s programming since the early days of one of Chicago’s most lauded theaters. Around 200 veterans are invited to see the final dress rehearsal of every Steppenwolf Subscription Series play and also receive a catered buffet dinner. The Veterans Nights are almost always held on nights when Inspiration Corporation does not serve dinner, making this event not only enjoyable but important and nourishing to our clients.
The Blue Man Group box office staff found out about the important work being done at Inspiration Corporation from Steppenwolf Theater and wanted to make a similar donation.
The Art for All program is a treasured aspect of the work we do at Inspiration Corporation by both by participants and staff. We keep this program going exclusively through donations and volunteer efforts. We are always looking for support through ticket and Ventra card donations. The generosity of cultural organizations, teams, theaters and volunteers is immensely appreciated.
