Last month we asked our volunteers, donors and supporters, to help Inspiration Corporation offset rising food prices by donating non-perishable food items to our pantry.

Volunteers at Inspiration Cafe dropped off canned goods before their shifts, diners at Inspiration Kitchens left shelf-stable foods behind with their cleaned plates in Uptown and Garfield Park, and together we brought in more than 550 pounds of food during the month of June!

Every month over 220 people visit our pantries at Inspiration Cafe and The Living Room Cafe.  This year the cost of stocking the pantries increased by ten percent over the last fiscal year  due to rising food prices and increased demand.

Inspiration Corporation’s pantries are a part of The Greater Chicago Food Depository’s food bank network, which distributes donated and purchased food through 650 pantries, soup kitchens and shelters to 678,000 adults and children in Cook County every year.

Thank you to all of our generous donors for their continued support and belief in our work!
