Giving Tuesday is usually about finding time to give back after treating ourselves to food and shopping. This year, the holidays will be less about gathering and indulging, and more about caring for each other’s health and safety.
Staff preparing for for meals distribution
We have seen the need for our services grow during the COVID-19 pandemic. We have opened our doors to anyone in need, and are distributing about 150 to-go meals every day. Our housing staff are staying in touch with over 300 participants and working with them to address new and existing needs. When our Inspiration Kitchens restaurant closed to the public, we started producing bulk meals for shelters and housing programs and delivering them across the City, free of charge. We have provided over 25,000 meals to the community and partner agencies since the beginning of July.
