Companies are finding more and more ways of giving back to the community through Inspiration Corporation’s Corporate Engagement Program. We’re working on ways to strengthen our corporate partnerships and help more groups get involved than ever before. One ofthese ways is through volunteer events, which include cooking or serving meals in our cafe, helping job seeking participants through workshops and mock interviews, and neighborhood clean-up or building upkeep. Groups can also contribute off-site by arranging drives for canned goods, toiletries or household supplies, and assembling bagged lunches for our participants.
We’re also excited to have recently introduced an event called Lunch and Learn, where team members from Inspiration Corporation visit corporate offices to educate their staff about homelessness and poverty in Chicago, and how our agency helps to solve these problems. In addition to addressing many misconceptions about homelessness, these interactive sessions include activities that bring perspective to the experience of homelessness and address systematic issues that help contribute to the cycle of poverty.
We’ve already had the opportunity to work with many wonderful corporations through this program, including Convergint Technologies, Assurance and Yahoo! It has proven to be a rewarding and fulfilling experience for both Inspiration Corporation and the companies that participate, and we’re so thankful for these growing partnerships.
