On Saturday, April 14, Chicago-area musician Derek Fawcett supported Inspiration Corporation with a song release party at Martyrs’. Proceeds from the show and after party at Brownstone benefited Inspiration Corporation programs.

The show debuted “Leaving“, the second of five songs to be released by Fawcett over the next several months, with half of the proceeds for each $2 song download going a local charity. “Leaving” benefits Inspiration Corporation, and the song can be downloaded here.
Local photographer Kate Joyce provided cover art for the song, and her work was highlighted during the show. The evening also featured an opening act by Lucky Plush dance company that integrated dance, theater and visual design.
We were excited to be the beneficiary of this collaborative effort between visual and performance artists that brought attention to the struggles of homeless and low-income Chicagoans. Thanks to Derek, Kate, Lucky Plush, and Martyrs’ for an unforgettable evening.
