At Inspiration Corporation, we believe no one should go hungry. That’s why we’ve provided meals to Chicagoans experiencing homelessness and deep poverty for over 30 years.

At Inspiration Cafe in Uptown, we’ve been serving meals to-go since the pandemic began. Our social enterprise restaurant in East Garfield Park, Inspiration Kitchens, also switched from serving the paying public to catering for emergency shelters and street outreach programs. During these unprecedented times, many members of our community have relied on the meals we serve, some for the first time.

One new-comer to our meals, Gail (pictured), recently found out about our lunchtime meal distribution at Inspiration Cafe and has become a regular. She appreciates how we provide a hot meal as well as a bagged lunch, so she can eat one for lunch and one for dinner. She says the, “Food is nice and warm. They give you enough to get you full.” To us, food is only part of what we seek to provide. It is important to us to ensure our participants have a positive experience and interaction as well as a great meal.

Thanks to the generosity of our donors, we have been able to provide meals to people like Gail, as well as thousands more staying in emergency shelters or living on the streets. It is our mission connect people with the services and resources they need. We have been fortunate to be able to face the ongoing public health crisis and feed more people than ever before. We are only able to do this with the help of our community of supporters. Make a gift today and help us make sure anyone who comes to our doors is fed in an atmosphere of dignity and respect.
