Leonard spent 20 years of his life addicted, living on the streets and was in and out of prison for much of that time.  In 2009, he took a computer class at an area community center, and realized he had the capacity to learn a new set of skills and turn his life around. Leonard told his case manager there that he loved to cook, and was referred to Inspiration Kitchens.

Leonard graduated from the program at Inspiration Kitchens – Uptown, and soon after was hired as a dishwasher at the Garfield Park location. He’s been working steadily for more than 2 years, and met his wife in the program as well.

He credits Inspiration Corporation with his success.

“Inspiration taught me to be a better person. Now I do the right thing.  I stick to my commitments.”

I’m a miracle,” says Leonard.
